Ganss Family

The Ganss family came from Frankenthal, Bavaria, Germany. They were reportledly from a long line of bakers and were known for their Christmas cookies. Ludwig passed along a family recipe book to Jacob but it has since been lost.

Ludwig Ganss - Frederick Ludwig Ganss was a baker from Frankenthal, Germany. He came to America in 1862 to live with his two children.

 

Christianna Ganss - Daughter of Ludwig Ganss. She married Joseph Winzer.

 

Jacob Ganss - Son of Ludwig Ganss. Uncle Jake (as he was known to Ruby Denaple) was a whiskey distiller before he became a Cleveland policemen.
