John Rawalt & Ann McMahon Family

 

This page is devoted to all of the documents and records collected for the John Rawalt family. John was born in Pennsylvania and served in the American Revolution. He served in several areas and at various times.He was a private, Second and First Lt, and Captain. At the end of te war he was referred to as a "Commissary General" who was responsible for provisioning of the troops. He also served in line companies earlier in the war. After the war he and his growing family moved to New York. His wife, who lived to 1849, filed for a pension as a result of John's service. Ann filed several appeals incuding one directly with Congress and the records provide quite a bit f information. Most of the time John was referred to as "John Rewalt"
