I do not have any pictures of Cyrus. This is the only picture of Mary Diana Van Hook Robinson.

It was graciously provided by one of her descendants.

This page is devoted to all of the documents and records collected for the Cyrus Robinson family. Cyrus Robinson was born in Jan 1823 in Pennsylvania. The first we see of him is the 1850 census with wife Mary and 3 children. He is listed as being 27 and occupation of miller.  In the 1860 census the family has moved to Forest County, PA. The family buys some property in Mary's name and Cyrus was elected County Auditor at one point. His occupation is given as farmer in 1860. By 1865 the family is in Minnesota. In the 1870 census the family is in Cascade Township, Olmsted County, MN and again is listed as a farmer. Some of their children are grown and will break off on their own.

In the 1880s the family heads to the Dakota Territory and finally settles in Emmons County, southeast of Bismarck. Cyrus runs a store and is appointed Postmaster. He also homesteads some land. His son Frank died in Oregon in 1885 and daughter-in-law Claudia Daisy Robinson homesteads some land in Emmons County at the same time. With hired help she is able to make improvements and is granted a homestead. She sells the land and moves back to Wabaunsee County, KS.

Cyrus dies in 1897 following an accident several months prior. Mary lives until 1916. In the 1900 census she indicates she had a total of 13 children of which only 6 were still alive. Family has indicated 3 children died at very young ages and are currently unknown.
