Peter Jochimsson & Elizabeth Olafsdotter Family

This page is devoted to all of the documents and records collected for the Jochimsson family. The family origins are in Sweden and the confusing surnames are a result. Peter was a soldier in Sweden who came to New Sweden in 1643 in the ship Fama. He married the daughter of Olof Olofsson in New Sweden and retired. He was called back into service in 1654 to negotiate with the Dutch in New Amsterdam in 1654. The governor of New Amsterdam informed the Swedes that Peter had died after a sudden illness and he billed them 127 guilders for the funeral.
