John & Ester Heath Land Records
John and Ester moved to Marshall County, Illinois in the 1850s but no deed records have been discovered. By 1860 they was back in McDonough County where his family lived. So far we have one Chattel Mortgage. The remainder of the deeds cover their time in Butler County, Kansas. They moved there in late 1868. John filed a Homestead Claim in 1869 and was granted a Patent for 160 acres in 1875.
1854 Chattel Mortgage - This was between John and his father Samuel
1875 Homestead Patent - John filed a claim in 1869 and submitted paperwork in 1875 proving his claim.
1875 Patent Granted - This is the Homestead Certificate.
1885 Deed - John & Ester selling land. Here is a link to a Google satellite view of the area today.
1889 Quitclaim Deed - Ten more acres
1890 Deed - Last deed recorded for John and Ester. Perhaps others will be discovered.
